Class Experience
Watch your child take the lead in their own education as they complete each of the 60 engaging writing units, submit the corresponding homework and reach new levels. The One Room School House provides students who are looking to get the early benefits or who are struggling in their current learning environment with the confidence, abilities and skills while building a solid academic foundation. We promote student-centered learning, exploration, collaboration and inquiry. We utilize a variety of different strategies, techniques and materials (activities, games etc.) Students are assessed regularly to meet individual needs.
Days and Times
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week
8:15am to 9:00am Eastern Time
No class on Holidays
OTHER THINGS TO KNOW: This class consists of sixteen (16) weeks of units. Homework exercises for each unit must be submitted to complete that unit prior to starting a new unit. Units missed or needing to be retaken can be made up in the following semester on its scheduled date at the $40/Drop In Class price. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: You will receive an email 30 minutes before the class starts with a link to the class and instructions. A daily email will be sent with required homework, announcements and a brief summary of any additional tools needed for the next days upcoming unit. Caregivers are responsible for having their child logged in with headsets on 10 minutes before class begins each day for check in. Please have camera on and audio muted. For technical issues with Zoom, please make sure you update your Zoom before class. If that don't solve the issue, restart your computer after updating. If you are having trouble logging on, try manually typing in the Meeting ID and Password rather than clicking the link or copying and pasting the numbers. If all of the above have been attempted and you are still having trouble, try logging on with a different device. Have the name of your child as the username when logged in. Have your child's general supplies and others specific to that class available. We recommend you make sure your device is up to date and meets all system requirements before class.
